JOBS Bill Passes - So What?

Today an important piece of legislature actually made it through Congress. That right there is news worth, but there's more!

Under the new JOBS Act, small businesses will be able to use the internet to raise up to $1 million in investment capital. This technique is called "crowdfunding."

This idea of "bubbles" isn't foreign to us as Americans, but I heard a new one this week and resinated with me to the core of my business being.

TEDx Presentation

Back in October 2011, I was given the opportunity to present a talk for TEDx Birmingham. Being a huge fan of the TED conference, I jumped at the chance. The idea behind this talk was to showcase Birmingham as a city with an active cultural and events scene -- a fact that seems to be lost on far too many locals. However, from that concept, quickly evolved an idea that these events were more than one day, one weekend affairs. Rather, they helped to weave the very social fabric of Birmingham itself; day in and day out.
